Karalta Cottage Kindergarten is firmly committed to ensuring children’s safety is at the forefront of our services’ operations. At KCK, we are a child-safe organisation; we put children’s best interests first. We are committed to implementing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. We are committed to ensuring children feel safe and empowered and that they are taken seriously if they raise concerns about their safety and well-being.
We will ensure that child safety is embedded in our policies and procedures and understood and practised at all levels of care. Management, Educators, and volunteers are responsible for advocating children’s rights and caring for and protecting them to ensure their safety, welfare, and well-being. Our commitment to maintaining a safe environment also extends to online platforms by protecting children’s dignity and privacy. We ensure images and videos of children taken on service devices are used, stored and destroyed correctly. We are committed to protecting children in online environments while using service devices.
Our commitment extends beyond creating an environment that minimises risk or danger. We are committed to building a child-safe and child-friendly environment for all children regardless of age, race, gender, disability, cultural or sexual identity. Together, we can provide an environment where children feel safe, secure, and supported and their right to privacy is respected. We are committed to ensuring that all children reach their fullest potential.

Sustainability Update!
Over the last 18mths we have continued to care for our enviroment alongside our children, families and community. We continue to implement the Curby soft plastic recycling program and we have recently introduced our compost/ worm farm for our daily food scraps. We look forward to implementing more sustainability practices across the years.
